The Iconic Dhyan Mandir at Art of Living International Centre, Bengaluru, Receives the Prestigious ICI Award 2026 for Outstanding Concrete Structure

Bengaluru,: The iconic Dhyan Mandir at The Art of Living International Centre, has been recognised with the coveted Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) Award 2026 for Outstanding Concrete Structure, honouring its exceptional structural design and engineering achievement.

A defining feature of the Dhyan Mandir is its remarkable 196-foot column-less span, creating a vast, unobstructed space for lakhs of seekers to meditate together. Spread across approximately 1.06 lakh sq ft, the structure also features a 65,000 sq ft rooftop garden, bringing together large-scale engineering with an emphasis on openness and connection with nature.

The award is a significant recognition for a structure that combines architectural vision with complex concrete engineering. The ICI, one of India’s leading professional bodies dedicated to concrete technology and construction, instituted its Outstanding Concrete Structure Award to recognise excellence and innovation in concrete construction.

Designed as a dedicated space for silence, reflection and collective practice, the lotus-shaped Dhyan Mandir was inaugurated by Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on May 10, 2026, during The Art of Living’s 45th anniversary celebrations. The Prime Minister described the new meditation space as a centre of “peace and solace” for generations to come.

The recognition by ICI places the Dhyan Mandir among noteworthy contemporary concrete structures, acknowledging the engineering ingenuity required to create a vast, column-free meditation space at such scale.
