NCRTC celebrates International Women’s Day with engaging activities for women and girl students across the Namo Bharat Corridor

- Women passengers participated in quiz games onboard Namo Bharat trains, winning prizes and chocolates and Shot Put gold medalist Dr. Richa Sood shared her success mantra with girl students

Meerut.To mark International Women’s Day, NCRTC organized a series of engaging programs across the Namo Bharat Corridor and its headquarters, recognizing the invaluable contributions of women to society. Women and girl students actively participated in these activities, making the celebration both meaningful and memorable.

On this special occasion, the women’s coach of Namo Bharat trains was decorated with balloons, creating a festive atmosphere. Women passengers enjoyed interactive quiz games, with winners receiving gifts from NCRTC. To add a touch of delight, chocolates were distributed to all female travelers, who expressed their appreciation for the thoughtful gesture. Meanwhile, women employees operating Namo Bharat trains celebrated the day by cutting a cake at the Crew Control Center at Sahibabad station.

At Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station, national and international medal-winning athlete Dr. Richa Sood graced the event as the chief guest. She shared insights into her journey in the world of sports, her academic achievements and her strategies for overcoming challenges. College students and teachers eagerly asked questions about managing mental stress, overcoming the fear of failure and maintaining good health. The students also enjoyed a ride on the Namo Bharat train alongside Dr. Sood, making the event even more special.

The celebrations continued at NCRTC headquarters, Gati-Shakti Bhawan, INA, Delhi, where Shri. Shalabh Goel, MD NCRTC personally met with women employees and commended their contributions. He remarked, “Women are not just the backbone of NCRTC and the Namo Bharat Project, but also key to building a sustainable and progressive future. Their dedication enables us to provide an accessible, comfortable, fast, safe and reliable transport system that enhances the quality of life for millions of women. We honour and appreciate their hard work not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.”

The event also featured activities such as a poster-making competition on gender equality and the “Master Chef of NCRTC” contest. The winners were recognized and awarded prizes in the presence of senior officials, adding to the celebratory spirit of the day.
