NCRTC Launches Groundbreaking Live Train Tracking and Live Parking Status Features on RRTS Connect App

For the first time in India, passengers can now access live train tracking and real-time parking availability through the ‘RRTS Connect' app, revolutionizing the commuter experience

Meerut -In a significant step towards enhancing passenger convenience, NCRTC has launched two pioneering features on the ‘RRTS Connect’ app, setting a new benchmark for public transportation in India. For the first time in the country, commuters of the Namo Bharat trains can now benefit from live train tracking and live parking status, providing them with real-time information that will make their travel experience smoother and more efficient.

The live train tracking feature offers commuters up-to-the-minute updates on train arrivals, showing the exact status and location of the Namo Bharat trains. This enables passengers to plan their journeys with precision, knowing exactly when the next train will arrive at their station. In addition to train arrival times, the feature also provides information on the next station along with the distance and estimated arrival time, creating a seamless and predictable travel experience.

Similarly, the live parking status feature provides real-time updates on parking space availability at RRTS stations, a first for commuters. Passengers can now see the current occupancy of parking spaces, allowing them to make informed decisions about where to park their vehicles. This real-time visibility is a game-changer for those who rely on parking facilities at stations, ensuring they can plan their travel without unnecessary delays. Extensive parking facilities are being provided at RRTS stations from Delhi to Meerut to accommodate over 8,000 vehicles.

These new features add to the growing list of functionalities available on the ‘RRTS Connect’ app, which already includes ticket booking, station navigation, and last-mile connectivity options. Together, they contribute to making the commute on the Namo Bharat trains a more convenient, comfortable, and hassle-free experience for passengers.

The app continues to offer important services such as the “Feeder Bus Services,” providing details on bus timings and connections to RRTS stations, as well as the ability to book bikes, autos, and cabs through the Rapido app for easy last-mile connectivity.

Additionally, the “Station Facilities” feature offers passengers detailed information about station amenities, including drinking water, restrooms, lifts, and escalators, along with station layouts to assist with navigation. The app also facilitates direct communication with the station control room through phone or WhatsApp for any assistance and includes a "Lost & Found" feature to help recover misplaced items.

By introducing live train tracking and parking status for the first time in India, NCRTC is not only setting a new standard for public transport but also significantly enhancing the travel experience for Namo Bharat train passengers. These features are designed to make commuting easier and more predictable, offering a level of convenience that has never before been available to commuters.

Currently, 42 km of the RRTS corridor is operational, featuring nine stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South. Trial runs on the Delhi section, extending from New Ashok Nagar to Sahibabad, are progressing seamlessly. Once this section becomes operational, the total operational length of the corridor will increase to 54 kilometers. This expansion will connect key stations like Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar, significantly enhancing transit options for passengers across the National Capital Region (NCR).
