Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Lays Foundation Stone for re-development works at 554 Railway Stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and Lays Foundation Stone/Dedicates to the Nation 1500 Road Over Bridge/Road Under Bridge over Indian Railways.
NewDelhi -Today, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Lays Foundation Stone for re-development works at 554 Railway Stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and Lays Foundation Stone/Dedicates to the Nation 1500 Road Over Bridge/Road Under Bridge over Indian Railways. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a flagship project of the Indian Railways. The project aims to modernize Railway stations across the country with the intent to improve connectivity and access. Overall, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a significant initiative that will benefit crores of people who use the Railway System in India.
Lieutenant Governor, Delhi Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena and Hon’ble Minister of
State for External Affairs and Culture, Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi were present on
this occasion at Tilak Bridge Railway Station. Hon'ble
Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation and Planning
(Independent Charge) and Corporate Affairs, Shri Rao Inderjit Singh, was
present on this occasion at Gurugram Railway
Station. Hon'ble Minister of State for Power and Heavy
Industries, Shri Krishan Pal was present on this occasion at Ballabhgarh Railway Station. Hon'ble Minister of State
for Development of North Eastern Region and Cooperation, Shri B.L. Verma, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (LokSabha),
Shri Rajendra Agrawal, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Dr.
Laxmikant Bajpayee and Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Rajyasabha) Shri Vijay Pal
Singh Tomar were present on this occasion at Meerut City.
Railway Station. Hon'ble Member of Parliament (LokSabha), Shri Ramesh Chander Kaushik
was present on this occasion at Gohana Railway
Station.
New
scheme aims at upgrading stations functioning not just as a place where
passengers will get world class facilities, but also be develop as a city
center. The scheme have been envisaged to provide with all modern amenities,
which includes Airport like, clean & hygienic restrooms, water ATMs, food
courts and shopping areas. It is based on Master planning for long term and
Implementation of the elements of master plan as per the needs and patronage of
the station. This would enhance the travelling experience of the passengers.
The project aims to connect railway stations to nearby areas with wider Foot
Over Bridges, improved goods siding area standardised signages for passenger
guidance etc. and develop these areas to provide better access to passengers.
The scheme includes the improvement of façade, new planned circulating area
with pick and drop facilities, landscaping in commensuration to local
art/historical monuments, development of roads, footpaths and other
infrastructure to improve connectivity and access. Seamless movement of passenger
along with facilities for Divyangjans as well as world class stations will
provide better economic & trade activities.
It is being ensured that the stations under redevelopment are Divyangjan
friendly and facility like development of ramp at entrance, wheel chair
accessible toilets, dedicated water booth, Braille signages, FOB access,
escalators, lifts with mulktimode transit options for first & last mile
connectivity. etc. shall be provided.
