High-Capacity EV Charging Station Now Operational at New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat Station

Delhi.A high-capacity electric vehicle (EV) charging station has now been commissioned at New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat Station. Among the largest public ultra-fast EV charging stations in Delhi, this facility offers advanced fast charging services to the electric vehicle users and aims to contribute towards a cleaner and more sustainable future of mobility.

The charging station is equipped with 14 DC charging points, enabling multiple private and commercial EVs and electric buses to be charged simultaneously. It includes seven 240 kW DC charging points, along with four 360 kW DC ultra-fast charging points for rapid charging with shorter turnaround times, and three 480 kW DC ultra-fast charging points for heavy-duty electric vehicles.

Designed for both private and commercial EVs, the facility is equipped with advanced safety and monitoring systems to ensure safe and reliable operations. Users can access the charging station through a mobile application that allows them to locate the facility and use the charging services with ease.

With the commissioning of this facility, passengers who use private electric vehicles to reach Namo Bharat stations can now conveniently charge their vehicles at the station itself. It will not only benefit Namo Bharat commuters but also residents in nearby areas. Easy access to charging infrastructure is also expected to encourage greater adoption of electric vehicles, especially among those who were hesitant due to lack of facilities.

This initiative is part of NCRTC's efforts to promote clean mobility and encourage the use of electric vehicles. With the commissioning of this facility, EV charging stations are now available at a total of 9 Namo Bharat stations, including Sahibabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, Meerut South and Anand Vihar. The high-capacity EV charging station at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station was commissioned earlier this year.

By integrating EV charging infrastructure with the Namo Bharat network, NCRTC aims to improve commuter convenience while supporting clean and sustainable urban transport. Environmental sustainability has been a priority for NCRTC since the inception of the Namo Bharat project and it has been consistently working towards it. Various measures for the enhanced use of renewable energy, strengthening energy-efficient infrastructure and improving last-mile connectivity to build a greener and more sustainable transit system are few of its notable efforts in this direction.
