Meerut. To commemorate World Health Day, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) organized a series of activities at Namo Bharat stations on Monday, April 7th. The goal was to raise awareness and motivate people towards a healthy lifestyle.
At Anand Vihar Namo Bharat station, a health talk was conducted, where an expert shared valuable insights on maintaining overall health and fitness, with a focus on preventing spine and joint pain common among people with desk jobs. The session saw active participation from commuters, and college students who engaged with the expert and asked questions.
In addition to the health talk, fitness challenges were also organized at Anand Vihar and Ghaziabad Namo Bharat stations. Passengers enthusiastically participated in activities like step-up challenges, rope skipping, push-ups, and planks, which not only tested their fitness but also provided an opportunity to win prizes.
A street play was also performed by school students, promoting awareness about offering facilities like escalators and lifts to those in needs first, maintaining cleanliness in public transport, and avoiding littering.
Through such initiatives, NCRTC aims to contribute towards the vision of "Healthy Citizen, Strong Nation" by educating the public about the importance of health and wellness.
