‘RRTS Connect’ App Top users honoured on the completion of one year of Namo Bharat train service
Meerut-NCRTC has honoured the top users of its 'RRTS Connect' app on the first anniversary of the Namo Bharat trains. The 'Namo Bharat Diwas' event, on Sunday, marked the one-year milestone of India's first Namo Bharat train service. Union Housing and Urban Affairs and Power Minister Shri Manohar Lal, along with Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Tokhan Sahu, were present at the event. The program also recognized NCRTC employees for their outstanding contributions throughout the year.
Among the honoured were Pankaj Kumar from Modinagar and Kajal Rohilla from Vasundhara, Ghaziabad—both top users of the 'RRTS Connect' app. This app, which has already been downloaded by nearly one lakh commuters, has been instrumental in enhancing passenger convenience. To further promote its use, QR codes have been installed across stations and trains, allowing passengers to easily download the app.
Pankaj Kumar and Kajal Rohilla were acknowledged as the passengers with the highest number of ticket purchases through the mobile app. The 'RRTS Connect' app is equipped with several passenger-centric features, including the 'Plan Your Journey' tool, which allows travellers to purchase tickets for the Namo Bharat train by entering their departure and destination stations. The app then displays the ticket price, which can be paid via UPI, debit or credit cards, or net banking, after which a QR code is generated. This digital ticket eliminates the need for paper, making it both eco-friendly and cleaner.
Passengers can use the QR code to enter through AFC gates and can access their travel history or download receipts through the app’s transaction history feature. Additionally, the app offers train tracking, providing information on trains arriving at a station within the next 30 minutes, their location, and the estimated time of arrival. The full train schedule, including the start and end times for each day, is also available.
For last-mile connectivity, the app provides details about feeder bus services, and it integrates with the Rapido app for easy bike, auto, and cab bookings. Station amenities, such as drinking water and washroom locations, entry and exit gate information, and platform details are also easily accessible through the app.
Parking availability is another useful feature, with complete details on the number of parking lots and spaces for two-wheelers and four-wheelers at each station. The app also offers a station layout map and provides the contact number for the station’s control room, allowing passengers to seek help or provide suggestions via WhatsApp.
Passengers can also report lost items through the app’s 'Lost and Found' feature, or submit complaints or suggestions using the 'Report a Complaint' option, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey on the Namo Bharat trains.
