News Prahari| Meerut, 7 March 2020. Campaigns for the elimination of malnutrition in the district under the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS) are bringing color. The efforts made by the department from September 2019 to January 2020 have reduced the number of malnourished and undernourished children. Statistics show that while there was an 11 percent increase in the number of children who were weaned during this period, the number of undernourished children decreased by about 20.16 percent and the number of undernourished children decreased by 45 percent. The officials of the government department played an important role in this work by adopting villages.
District Program Officer Vineet Kumar said that in September 2019, 66 villages of the district were adopted by the officials of the government department. While 71 villages were adopted in December 2019. Out of these villages taken in September, by December 15 all the villages were well-cultivated and by December 27 out of 71, 22 villages have been cultivated. Efforts are on for the rest. He expressed the hope that soon the remaining villages will also be well-trained.
He said that 66 villages were adopted by Government Department officials during the month of Nutrition in September, including Jharpur, Gesupar Dattali, Bahchaula in Rajpura block, Pavali Khurd in Daurala block, Khedi Tappa Laval, Chiodi, Azampur in Rohata block, Bafar and Sipura in Jani Block, Panchi in Kharkhoda Block, Rajpur in Parikshitgarh Block, Rasulpur village, Durveshpur, Samaspur, Mawana Block Tiger, Macra blocks were Factory, Nityananda introduced, Kndraavli, Srurpur block Drvespur, Sardhana block in Daulatpur, Hastinapur block Lukadhari, Gramim block Bajot village. Due to the efforts of the authorities, all the villages were well-developed by 15 December. After this, another campaign was launched in December to eradicate malnutrition. In which 71 villages were adopted by the authorities. As of February, 22 of these villages have been exempted from malnutrition.
