ADVISORY REGARDING KITE FLYING NEAR NAMO BHARAT CORRIDOR

Meerut.NCRTC appeals to the public to refrain from flying kites near  the Namo Bharat corridor and its electrical infrastructure. As the corridor passes through densely populated areas, kite flying near the corridor can pose safety risks due to the presence of high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Namo Bharat trains are powered through 25kV AC Overhead Equipment (OHE), which remains electrically charged.

Kite strings, particularly those made of or containing metallic material, can get entangled with the OHE or come into contact with the train’s pantograph, the equipment that draws power from the overhead system. Such incidents can damage the OHE or pantograph, thereby disrupting seamless operations of Namo Bharat trains, while contact with the high-voltage OHE can pose a serious and potentially fatal risk to those flying kites nearby.

To ensure public safety and uninterrupted Namo Bharat services, NCRTC has put in place necessary safety and monitoring arrangements along the corridor. Dedicated teams remain vigilant in areas vulnerable to kite-related incidents, while train operators and station staff have also been advised to maintain heightened vigilance for kite strings and other obstructions near the tracks and OHE.

NCRTC urges the public to celebrate the festive spirit responsibly and cooperate in keeping the Namo Bharat corridor safe, ensuring both public safety and uninterrupted train services.
