SaveLIFE Foundation, Supported by Auto Hangar, Upgrades SDH Kasa and RH Talasari to Strengthen Trauma Response along NH 48
Palghar, March 2026: With an aim to strengthen emergency trauma response along National Highway 48 (NH 48), SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF), supported by the CSR initiative of Auto Hangar India Private Limited (Auto Hangar), handed over essential trauma care medical equipment at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kasa and Rural Hospital (RH) Talasari, District Palghar, Maharashtra, thus upgrading both medical facilities into Trauma Stabilisations Centres.
The upgrade includes the provision of critical trauma care equipment for airway management, breathing support, bleeding control, and other essential interventions required for the resuscitation and stabilisation of road crash victims.
The upgrade is aimed at enabling both hospitals to provide timely and effective care within the golden hour—the crucial period immediately following a traumatic injury—thereby significantly reducing preventable deaths.
The initiative is part of a comprehensive, systems-based approach to road safety under the Zero Fatality Corridor (ZFC) Programme, which focuses on improving engineering, enforcement, emergency response, and public awareness across India’s 100 most high-risk corridors, identified using a composite road crash severity index.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr Bhoye Prabhakar, Medical Superintendent, RH Talasari, said, "With essential life-saving equipment, our hospital will be better equipped to handle trauma cases. This initiative by SaveLIFE Foundation will play a crucial role in reducing fatalities and long-term disabilities caused by road crashes in the region."
Speaking about Auto Hangar’s commitment to road safety, Heswyn D’souza, CEO, said, “At Auto Hangar, we believe that every life lost on our roads is a loss that could have been prevented. Our partnership with SaveLIFE Foundation under the Zero Fatality Corridor (ZFC) Programme on the Dahisar-Achad stretch of NH 48 reflects our deep commitment to road safety and community well-being. By strengthening the trauma care capabilities of health facilities along this corridor, we hope to contribute meaningfully to reducing road crash fatalities and ensuring that people have access to timely, quality medical care when it matters most.”
Speaking about the initiative, Piyush Tewari, Founder & CEO, SaveLIFE Foundation, said, “Most road crash fatalities are preventable if the injured receive robust trauma care closer to the site of the crash. By upgrading SDH Kasa and RH Talasari into trauma stabilisation centres, we are taking a critical step towards ensuring that victims on NH 48 have a fighting chance within the golden hour. We are grateful to Auto Hangar for their steadfast partnership. Together, we are building a system where no life is lost simply because the right care was not available in time.”
With this intervention, SaveLIFE Foundation has strengthened its commitment to improving road safety and emergency response systems on the Dahisar–Achad section of NH 48. By enabling public health facilities to function as trauma stabilisation centres, SLF continues to work systematically towards lowering the burden of road crash fatalities on the public health system and on families across Maharashtra.
