NCRTC Partners With Uber to Strengthen Last-Mile Connectivity along the Namo Bharat Corridor

Meerut. In a significant step towards further enhancing seamless mobility and commuter convenience, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uber to facilitate app-based last-mile connectivity services across the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor.

Under this partnership, Uber’s mobility services, including cabs, autos, and two-wheelers, will be available across all operational Namo Bharat stations from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South. As the additional sections on the corridor gets commissioned, these services will extend to all 25 stations. For the convenience of the commuters, dedicated pickup/drop off points have been demarcated at the Namo Bharat Stations and directional signages are placed to guide towards them. In the coming days, Uber may also offer special discounts for Namo Bharat commuters.

Speaking about this collaboration, Shri Shalabh Goel, Managing Director, NCRTC, said, "This partnership with Uber is another important step towards strengthening last-mile connectivity along the Namo Bharat Corridor, offering commuters a convenient and integrated travel experience. It aims to enhance the modal shift towards public transportation, and in turn help enable significant reduction in vehicular congestion and air pollution in the region."

Manish Bindrani, Head of Supply, Uber India and South Asia, said, “We are proud to support one of India’s most ambitious transit projects. By enabling integrated last-mile mobility, we’re advancing shared transportation, reducing reliance on private vehicles and helping cities meet climate and traffic congestion goals. Our aim is to make it easy for every Namo Bharat rider to complete their journey end to end - whether heading to an office in Delhi or a home in Meerut.”

Uber’s services will be supported by app-based wayfinding, real-time information, and visibility within Namo Bharat trains and stations, bringing enhanced ease and comfort to the daily journeys of thousands of commuters.

NCRTC has been making continuous efforts to strengthen first/last mile connectivity to and from Namo Bharat stations. Various last mile service providers like Rapido are already operating at several stations in Ghaziabad. Additionally, electric buses started under the DEVI Bus Scheme (Delhi Electric Vehicle Interchange Scheme) have also been integrated with Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat stations in Delhi. With this partnership with Uber, Namo Bharat commuters will be able to carry on their journey ahead seamlessly and with ease.

The Namo Bharat corridor, once fully operational, is expected to reduce current travel time to one-third between Delhi and Meerut, transforming the way people travel across the region.
