*NCRTC Announces Winners of Namo Bharat Short Film-Making Competition*

- *Young filmmakers across India capture the essence of India’s first Namo Bharat*

Meerut.NCRTC announced the winners of the Namo Bharat Short Film-MakingCompetition, on Tuesday, 5th August 2025. This initiative was launched to invite fresh, creative perspectives on Namo Bharat through the lens of young storytellers. The top three winners of this unique initiative were announced and felicitated by NCRTC in a ceremony today.

This competition was announced in December 2024, inviting college students, independent filmmakers, and aspiring content creators across the country. Participants were asked to submit original short films that portray the Namo Bharat trains and stations as an organic part of their narrative. The idea was for the Namo Bharat trains and stations to be embedded within compelling narratives, not as a subject but like a character that quietly moves the story forward.

The response to this initiative was enthusiastic and wide-ranging. NCRTC received over 300 queries and 83 story submissions from across the country, ranging from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra. Of these, 30 eligible teams with relevant themes were invited to film on location at Namo Bharat stations and onboard the trainsets. These entries reflected a rich diversity of cinematic language and imagination.

To ensure a thoughtful and thorough selection process, a multi-level evaluation was conducted. After an initial internal screening, shortlisted entries were reviewed by an esteemed independent jury comprising noted names from the industry. The shortlisted films were assessed for storytelling, originality, integration of infrastructure, and overall cinematic impact.

The top three films were awarded cash prizes of ₹1,50,000, ₹1,00,000, and ₹50,000 respectively. Select entries may also be showcased on NCRTC’s digital platforms in the future, celebrating these films and filmmakers and offering participants greater visibility and recognition.

Since the inauguration of the Priority Section by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 20th October 2023, Namo Bharat has captured the imagination of commuters across the region. This system, with modern trains with the maximum operational speed of up to 160 kmph, and inclusive, commuter-friendly stations, is reshaping the regional mobility and redefining the way people travel in NCR.

The enthusiastic response to this competition reflects the growing connection between the public and the infrastructure that powers their daily lives. With this initiative, NCRTC continues to explore creative avenues to foster public engagement and deepen the cultural footprint of Namo Bharat.

NCRTC is also providing an opportunity to filmmakers to tap into the futuristic appeal of Namo Bharat Stations and Trains to elevate the visual narratives of their cinematic endeavours at a stipulated cost. The related policy is available on the official website of NCRTC. Namo Bharat infrastructures boast world-class architecture and design coupled with contemporary aesthetics and modern facilities making them optimal choices for filmmakers aiming for visually captivating and versatile settings.
