Meerut. Managing Director of NCRTC, Shri Shalabh Goel, inaugurated the painting exhibition ‘Young Brush Strokes’ at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station on 27 June 2025. Directors and senior officers of NCRTC were also present on the occasion. The exhibition is being organised in collaboration with the International Institute of Fine Arts (IIFA), Modinagar.

Curated at the concourse level of the station, the exhibition features paintings by both students and faculty members of IIFA. It is being displayed in the unpaid area of the Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station, allowing the general public to view the artworks free of cost.

Shri Goel viewed the displayed artworks and interacted with the artists to understand their vision behind each artwork. The artists expressed their gratitude to NCRTC for providing them a platform to share their creativity with thousands of commuters, and extended their best wishes for this initiative.

As part of its continued efforts to transform Namo Bharat stations into vibrant social spaces rather than just transit points, NCRTC is curating experiences that enhance the daily commute. ‘Namo Bharat Unplugged: Musical Fridays’ Season 2 is one such initiative being organised at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station every Friday at 6 PM. This event provides a platform for emerging bands and solo performers from schools, colleges, and independent circuits across NCR to showcase their talent, offering an opportunity to connect with hundreds of commuters. It is also a window of relaxation for many of commuters, who pause from their routine journeys to unwind, de-stress, and enjoy a shared cultural experience. Now, in addition to the music, commuters can also enjoy the painting exhibition as part of this cultural experience.

Mr. Goel and other senior officials also joined and enjoyed the musical evening. The band Raabta from IIMT College, Meerut, had the audience swaying to their tunes. Solo performances by Ms. Rupal, Ms. Sakshi, and Mr. Sam were also well-received by audience. A new segment, “On-the-Spot Antakshari”, introduced in this season of Namo Bharat Unplugged: Live Musical Friday, drew enthusiastic participation from audience and added a fun, interactive element to the evening.

Through these initiatives, NCRTC is not only enlivening the Namo Bharat stations but also creating inclusive platforms for artists from diverse disciplines to engage with thousands of people. The growing crowd each Friday stands as a testament to the positive response these efforts have received.
