Namo Bharat Unplugged- Live Musical Friday Evenings Now in Meerut, Season 3 Begins at Begumpul Namo Bharat Station

Meerut.NCRTC’s popular initiative, ‘Namo Bharat Unplugged: Live Musical Fridays’, which brings music and moments of relaxation to commuters’ journeys, has now arrived in Meerut. The third season of the musical series commenced today, 11 September 2026, at Begumpul Namo Bharat Station. During the event, artists’ musical performances added a lively touch to the station, making the evening a memorable one for commuters and music enthusiasts. The musical evening will now be held every Friday from 5 to 6 PM at Begumpul Namo Bharat Station.
Following the success of the series over the past two years and increasing demand from the public, the initiative has now been extended to Meerut. The first two seasons received an encouraging response, enthusiastic participation and appreciation from people, and commuters in Meerut will now also have the opportunity to enjoy live music and connect with music during their journeys.
The opening event featured musical performances by ‘Swarang’, the musical band from Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), who brought melodious energy to the evening. Performance by another young artist, Anshuman Dwivedi, mesmerised the audience. Their performances were warmly received by commuters, who responded with applause and enthusiasm, adding to the lively atmosphere at the station. Some were seen singing and dancing along to the music, while many captured the evening on their phones and shared it on social media. For those present at the station, the musical evening offered a cheerful experience away from the routine of their everyday journey.
Located in the heart of Meerut city, Begumpul Namo Bharat Station is one of the prominent stations on the corridor and witnesses one of the highest passenger footfalls. Situated between Abu Lane market and the city’s key business district, this underground station provides both Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services. Since the commencement of operations, it has emerged as a major mobility hub for the city. With a steady flow of commuters, these musical evenings are expected to add another vibrant dimension to the overall station experience.
Through this musical initiative, Namo Bharat Unplugged, NCRTC aims to offer commuters an experience that allows them to take a pause from their busy routines, spend a few moments enjoying music, and be part of a shared cultural experience with fellow travellers. At the same time, the initiative provides an open platform for Namo Bharat commuters, youngsters, students and music enthusiasts from all walks of life to share their talent with the public. NCRTC has consistently worked towards developing Namo Bharat stations not merely as points of transit, but as vibrant social hubs that connect people through shared experiences and creativity. This initiative is another step in that direction.
The first season of the series was held at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station in 2024, followed by the second season at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station in 2025. During this period, the stations came alive with live music every Friday evening. Large numbers of commuters would stop by to enjoy the performances and travelled especially to be part of the musical experience. With the continued enthusiasm and appreciation of commuters, Namo Bharat Unplugged: Live Musical Fridays – Season 3 will now continue its musical journey every Friday at Begumpul Namo Bharat Station, bringing together the joy of music and the everyday journey.
