Namo Bharat Commuters Enjoying Free Live Portrait Along with Art Exhibition at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station

Meerut. As part of NCRTC’s ongoing efforts to enhance commuter experience and transform stations into vibrant public spaces, commuters at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat station are now enjoying free live portrait sketching alongside the ongoing art exhibition, ‘Young Brush Strokes’. So far, hundreds of Namo Bharat commuters have taken part in this unique activity, creating lasting memories of their journey. This initiative is being organised in collaboration with the International Institute of Fine Arts (IIFA), Modinagar, where students from the institute are creating live sketches of passengers within the station premises. The exhibition and live sketching experience will be available for commuters till 27 July 2025.

This live sketching zone has been set up alongside a painting exhibition titled ‘Young Brush Strokes’ in the non-paid area at the upper concourse level of the station. The exhibition features artworks by students and faculty of IIFA, offering a glimpse into the creative talent of emerging artists.

NCRTC is striving to make the Namo Bharat journey more enjoyable by transforming its stations into vibrant cultural and social spaces, rather than mere transit points. Several efforts are being made in this direction, including the ongoing live sketching activity and art exhibition, to engage the commuters and enrich their travel experience.

This initiative also provides a platform for young artists to showcase their talent and connect with a diverse audience, giving them an opportunity to present their work to thousands of people. The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Shalabh Goel, Managing Director, NCRTC on 27th June, and has since witnessed a positive response from visitors, many of whom appreciated NCRTC for curating such a refreshing initiative. Participating students from IIFA have also expressed gratitude for the opportunity.

Another such creative initiative that has been transforming Anand Vihar station into a social hub is Namo Bharat Unplugged: Live Musical Fridays. Currently in its second edition, the event is organised every Friday at 6 PM at Anand Vihar station. Revived after the success of Season 1 and popular demand, Musical Fridays offers a platform to young and budding musical talents, bands, duets and solo artists from schools, colleges, and independent circuits across NCR, to showcase their talent. It also provides a joyful break for evening commuters, allowing them to pause and unwind with music. The newly introduced segment in this Season, ‘On-The-Spot Antakshari’, has been receiving enthusiastic participation, further adding to the experience and making Friday evenings more lively and memorable. With the addition of the live sketching and painting exhibition, commuters now have another creative engagement to enjoy at Anand Vihar station.
