Subharti Journalism Department organized a special lecture on the topic "From Classroom to Newsroom: Power of Communication Skills"
Meerut: Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University organized a special session on the topic "From Classroom to Newsroom: Power of Communication Skills". On this occasion, Zee Bharat's senior news anchor Priyanka Karnwal was present as the chief guest. Priyanka Karnwal, who has more than eight years of experience in the media sector, shared her professional experiences with the students. During the session, she emphasized that communication skills are not limited to speaking only, but it also depends on how we present ourselves. She said that effective communication is possible with the coordination of a positive attitude, right behaviour and clear purpose. Sharing the experience of her first interview, she told how she gained confidence by facing uncomfortable situations and why getting out of your comfort zone is necessary to learn and move forward. The relevance of transition from digital media to traditional media was also discussed in the session, where he said that adaptability is extremely important in today's fast-changing media world. Along with this, he also advised the students to adopt meditation as a regular practice to maintain self-control and stability in professional situation. This session was organized under the guidance of Head of Department Dr. Preeti Singh. Dr. Singh said that the department always invites people from the media world for its students so that the students keep getting industry experience. The program was hosted by Assistant Professor Ram Prakash Tiwari of the Department of Journalism. On this occasion, the students participated with great enthusiasm and interacted with Priyanka Karnwal in the Q&A session. She answered the questions of the students very easily and seriously, resolved their doubts and motivated them towards career. The program was concluded by the Director of the Department R. P. Singh by expressing gratitude to the guest by presenting a memento. While appreciating the valuable thoughts shared by the speaker, he called upon the students to put these learnings into practice in their future. During this event, faculty members of the department Tarun Jain and Shelly Sharma along with non-teaching staff Kapil Gill, Sanjay Pal, Harshit Dagar, Vijendra, etc were present along with the students.
