Lost & Found Centre at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station Helping Commuters to Reunite with Their Valuables Lost in Train or at Station

Meerut.NCRTC has set up a Lost and Found Centre at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station to reunite the commuters with their precious possessions accidently left behind/lost in Namo Bharat trains or at stations on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. To date, more than 160 forgotten valuables of the commuters have been returned to their rightful owners with the help of this centre. These items include expensive laptops, smart phones, wrist-watches, educational documents, medical reports, wallets containing cash, ear buds, Bluetooth devices, trolley bags, iPads, car and bike keys, books and other items including clothes.

Operations of Namo Bharat trains began in October 2023 with the commissioning of the priority section of the Namo Bharat corridor. With the expansion of services in a phased manner, Namo Bharat services are currently available on a 55 km stretch from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Meerut South.

The train attendants deployed in Namo Bharat trains have played a very important role since the beginning of Namo Bharat Train services. They help bring the unclaimed items left in the trains to the Lost and Found Centre immediately. These train attendants, deployed in every train, make rounds in the trains and monitor all the activities inside the train, including the items forgotten by the commuters in the train.

Commuters can easily access the information about their lost items by simply clicking on the option of ‘Lost and Found’ provided in the Namo Bharat Connect app. A list of found items along with details of where and when they were found is available under this head. Once they have identified their lost item, they can contact the Lost and Found Centre located at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station. They can retrieve their valuables after presenting the required verification. Commuters can also contact the controller of the concerned station to acquire information immediately after losing their valuables. The control room numbers of all stations are also available in the Station Facilities option of the Namo Bharat Connect app. Additionally, commuters can also call the Namo Bharat helpline number, 08069651515 to provide or receive information regarding their valuables.

In cases, where items were lost/left behind at a station, it is to be noted that valuables can be retrieved after verification from the same station where they were forgotten within 24 hours, while valuables left in trains can be recovered from the Lost and Found Centre located at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station.

Information about the lost valuables is not only available on the Namo Bharat App, but commuters can also acquire information directly from the Lost and Found Centre at Ghaziabad Station. If no claim is made within 6 months for the items deposited in the Lost and Found Centre, there is a provision to scrap those items as per the prearranged procedure.
